Cottonwood and deer hide. Carved hummingbird in door of sagewood

embellished with rabbit brush, cherry and cedar woods. Badger, fox and elk hide. Garnet, turquoise and abalone gourd rattle and drum striker of cedar and sage.
 
This work is a hand carved "drum cabinet" in a halfmoon shape featuring a unique functioning door within the drum to hold personal treasures and also functions to change the tone of the drum by adjusting the opening. Many times personal items or themes are included in the design of the drums when requested. Each material gathered carries with it a story, and within each story can be found truth, strength and beauty.
