Artist Statement

Vivid colors in simple shapes, images of the natural world, and the constantly shifting light and color are sources of inspiration and challenge for me. Watercolor is my medium because I am fascinated by its variability and processes. I often paint outside to more directly experience the energy and connection with earth and light. I rise daily to experience the day's light on the rocks, lake, unique vegetation, and sky. What a gift to be living among the red rocks and prismatic earth tones of Triassic and Jurassic geological formations within the arms of Cerro Pedernal!
