As a young impressionable nine year old my family took me on a camping trip through Northern New Mexico and particularly Taos. At that time Taos was a narrow meandering road with studios and galleries by the side of the road, probably beautiful flowers and magical light.
As I sat in my secret garden this morning (Oct, 2002) the maximillian were showering over my head reaching out as if to fill me with energy. I am amazed at the beauty that surrounds me. The colors, the quiet, the fresh crisp air that tingles my body in the shade, and the heat when I’m in the sun.
My family life inspired who I am today. There were projects everywhere inside, outside, basements, attics and garages full of treasures. Building, gardening, pottery, jewelry and sewing were on-going.
Currently, I’m focusing on portraits I love people, all kinds and ages. Faces tell so much about a person, and when I meet you I’m looking at your particular beauty. Can I capture that special something that I see?
Color is such a treat for my eyes, sometimes I go outrageous and other times I can actually enjoy the subtle soft color in a face. I like to have the full range of expression. To experiment and to leave room for play. I am still emerging- so come visit and see for yourself!
