ARTIST STATEMENT – Vivid colors and simple shapes express my awe of the creative energy and powerful geologic forces in the Southwest. I am fascinated by the variability of the light and delight in painting outside to more directly experience my connections with earth and light. I rise daily to experience the day's light on the lake, sky, rocks and unique vegetation. What a gift to be living among the red rocks and prismatic earth tones of Triassic and Jurassic geologic formations within the arms of Cerro Pedernal.
