ARTIST STATEMENT Living in northern New Mexico you can't help but be "geologically aware" and I became interested in rocks and semi precious stones. About the only stone I could identify was turquoise - moving here opened up a whole direction and interest. I attended the international bead show in Santa Fe and found an entire world that I never knew existed.



I look for irregular and unique stones. My work is not necessarily symmetrical. I like the weight, coloration and energy as well as the infinite variety of both the stones themselves and the ways they can be combined into jewelry. I look for semi precious beads, stones, and vintage beads to mix with my work. I use sterling silver findings and work in both traditional and contemporary styles guided by the stones themselves.
