My first art class was during high school in Loveland, CO. 32 years later the next class was in Cheyenne, WY. I believe I waited so long because of being afraid of finding out that I had little or no talent. In taking classes at the local community college I found out that I could draw. One of the compelling reasons I wanted to live in Abiquiu was the proximity to so many artistic activities. Many of the people I met here were involved in some form of art and were developing a budding art community which had started the Abiquiu Studio Tour, held in October each year. When I moved to Abiquiu in 1996, I wanted to be part of the tour so I made up note cards from pencil drawings, tying each set of black and white cards with different treatments of ribbon, raffia, leather with beads and conchos. The last few years I have colored some of the these cards with dry brushed watercolor.
